4-I guide
This ayah warns that people will see the Fire, and reminds us to ask Allah to protect us from it.
Start with bismillah.
A note for parents: with younger children, talk about asking Allah for protection; there's no need to describe the Fire.
Ask: "What do we use to protect ourselves from the hot sun? A hat? Sunscreen? Shade?"
Watch the TED-Ed video about how a NASA spacecraft flew close to the sun without melting, thanks to its heat shield.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does this ayah warn about?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What protects me most of all?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Takathur is surah 102. Find ayah 6. It begins with a word that makes the warning certain. Can you find it in the translation?
Fact: What is the Parker Solar Probe's heat shield made of, and how hot does it get?
Ages 5–8: Shade test. Put two ice cubes outside, one in the sun and one under a hat or in the shade. Which melts first?
Ages 9–12: Test which material protects best: wrap three ice cubes in foil, cloth and paper, and leave them in the sun. Time how long each takes to melt.
Finish with: "I found that ___ protected the ice cube best."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "Each day this week, I will ask Allah for protection at ___ and do one good deed: ___."
Action: Give your plan a go every day this week.

Never look straight at the Sun. Stay in the shade on very hot days.
