ٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًۭا فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
Ish'taraw' bi'āyāti -llahi thamanan qalīlan faṣaddū ʻan sabīlihī . 'innahum' sā'a mā kānū yaʻ'malūna
The Signs of Allah have they sold for a miserable price, and (many) have they hindered from His way: evil indeed are the deeds they have done.

They traded Allah's signs for a small worldly price and kept people away from His path, and what they did was evil.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Would you swap a diamond for a sweet?"
For a few quiet minutes, listen to Muhammad Al-Luhaidan reciting At-Tawbah, shared by LightOfDeen.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did they sell Allah's signs for?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is any worldly price too small for guidance?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tawbah is surah 9. Find ayah 9. Some leaders gave up the truth for money, power or comfort. Compared with guidance and Jannah, any worldly price is tiny. They also stopped others from reaching Allah.
Fact: In Al-Baqarah 2:41, a similar warning is given.
Ages 5–8: Swap game. Would you swap a big treasure for a tiny one? Talk about it.
Ages 9–12: True value. Write what is more valuable than money.
Finish with: "Guidance is worth more than any ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will choose what pleases Allah over what is easy."
Action: Choose what pleases Allah over what is easy.
