Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Who do you think needs help the most?"

Play the short At-Tawbah clip of ayah 60 from jannah.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How many groups are mentioned?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Allah choose these groups?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tawbah is surah 9. Find ayah 60. Allah Himself listed who receives zakah. It covers the poor, those in debt, travellers and more. Zakah keeps society caring and fair, so no one is forgotten.

Fact: Count the eight groups who receive zakah.

Ages 5–8: Help list. Draw the eight groups as simple pictures.

Ages 9–12: Fair system. Write how zakah helps a whole community.

Finish with: "Zakah is for ___ groups of people."

Talk together:

• Who receives zakah?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why is zakah fair?
• Which group would you like to help?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will help someone in need."

• Zakah for eight groups.
• Draw the groups.
