Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Is it fair to only be happy when you get something?"

Put on Ahmed Al-Ajmi's At-Tawbah from Tx46ta and follow along for a little while.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "When were they pleased?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is complaining about sharing wrong?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tawbah is surah 9. Find ayah 58. The Prophet shared charity fairly, but some only cared about what they got. They praised when given and complained when not. Believers are content and fair.

Fact: What qana'ah, contentment, means.

Ages 5–8: Fair share. Share a snack equally and thank everyone.

Ages 9–12: Contentment. Write how contentment makes people happier.

Finish with: "Contentment is called ___."

Talk together:

• When were they pleased?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why is that unfair?
• How can you be content?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will be thankful even if I get less."

• Be content.
• Share fairly.
• Don't complain.
