Ask: "Who should look after a house of Allah?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Whose deeds come to nothing?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does a masjid need people with faith to care for it?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tawbah is surah 9. Find ayah 17. The Quraysh were proud of caring for the Ka'bah, but they had filled it with idols. The ayah says caring for a masjid means worshipping Allah alone; their good deeds without faith did not count. Their end in the Fire is mentioned in one line.

Fact: How many idols were around the Ka'bah before the opening of Makkah.

Ages 5–8: Masjid helpers. Help tidy the shoes or prayer area at your masjid.

Ages 9–12: Real care. Write what makes someone a true carer of a masjid.

Finish with: "There were about ___ idols around the Ka'bah."

Talk together:

• Who cannot truly care for the masjid?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why do deeds need faith?
• How can you help your masjid?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will help at the masjid in a small way."
