Ask: "Who stays with you when things get really hard?"

Play the short clip from Qur'anic Benefactions of Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi reciting ayat 117–118 of At-Tawbah.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "When did they follow the Prophet?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why was Tabuk called the hour of hardship?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tawbah is surah 9. Find ayah 117. Tabuk was very hard: heat, long distance, little food and water. Yet the companions followed the Prophet. Allah accepted them, even those whose hearts nearly wavered.

Fact: What the army of Tabuk was called? Jaysh al-'Usrah, the army of hardship.

Ages 5–8: Stick together. Help a family member through something hard.

Ages 9–12: Hardship. Write what made the Tabuk journey so hard.

Finish with: "It was called the army of ___."

• Who did Allah turn to?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why was it hard?
• How can you help someone in hard times?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will stick by someone going through a hard time."
