4-I guide
…you were distracted from him.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever missed something important because you were busy with something else?"
Watch the slow-motion video of a kingfisher diving.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What happened to the man who came eagerly?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I avoid being distracted from what matters?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah 'Abasa is surah 80. Find ayah 10. The key word talahha means you were distracted, occupied with something else. Allah taught that the sincere learner should come first.
Fact: How does a kingfisher focus on a fish under the water?
Ages 5–8: Focus test. Try to colour a picture while someone talks to you. Then try in quiet. Which is better?
Ages 9–12: Bird focus. Find out how a kingfisher keeps its eyes on a fish while diving.
Finish with: "I found that a kingfisher focuses by ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will put away distractions during salah and Quran."
Action: Put away distractions during salah and Quran.
