Ask: "Why do people show off?"

Play the short clip from Anas Saleh Jaber of Anas Jaber reciting ayat 45–48 of Al-Anfal.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why did the Makkan army march out?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is showing off harmful?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Anfal is surah 8. Find ayah 47. The Makkan army marched out with music and pride, wanting to be seen. Believers are told to act sincerely, for Allah, not to impress people.

Fact: Riya' means doing good deeds to be seen.

Ages 5–8: Secret good. Do a good deed without telling anyone.

Ages 9–12: Riya'. Write why sincerity matters more than being seen.

Finish with: "Showing off good deeds is called ___."

Talk together:

• Why did they march out?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why is showing off harmful?
• How can you be sincere?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will do a secret good deed."

• Don't show off.
• Do secret good.
• Be sincere.
