Then, when the great overwhelming event comes…
Start with bismillah.
Drop a marble into a tray of flour. Ask: "What shape did it leave?"
Watch the Smithsonian Channel video about Arizona's Meteor Crater.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What is coming?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How big will that event be?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nazi'at is surah 79. Find ayah 34. The key words at-tammatul-kubra mean the greatest overwhelming event, the Day of Judgement, bigger than any event the world has seen.
Fact: How big was the rock that made Meteor Crater?
Ages 5–8: Flour craters. Drop different-sized balls into flour. Which makes the biggest crater?
Ages 9–12: Crater facts. Find out how scientists tell a meteor crater from a volcano crater.
Finish with: "I found that Meteor Crater was made by a rock about ___ wide."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will do one good deed each day for that Day."
Action: Do one good deed each day for that Day.
