4-I guide
One day, the horn will be blown.
Start with bismillah.
Tap a tuning fork or a spoon and touch it to water. Ask: "What do you see?"
Watch the Grammarsaurus video How does sound travel?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will be blown?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How will everyone hear it?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Muddaththir is surah 74. Find ayah 8. The key words nuqira fin-naqur mean the horn is sounded. This is the start of the Day of Judgement. Sound travels as waves, and that sound will reach everyone.
Fact: How fast does sound travel through air?
Ages 5–8: String phone. Make a cup-and-string phone. Can you hear a whisper through it?
Ages 9–12: Sound speed. Stand far from a friend who claps two blocks. Do you see the clap before you hear it?
Finish with: "I found that sound travels about ___ metres every second."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will listen to the adhan and stop what I'm doing."
Action: Listen to the adhan and stop what you're doing.
