4-I guide
Rise up, and give a warning.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do ships know where the dangerous rocks are at night?"
Watch the CBeebies video of Maddie explaining how a lighthouse works.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What two things is he told to do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is warning people a kind thing to do?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Muddaththir is surah 74. Find ayah 2. The key words qum fa-andhir mean rise and warn. The Prophet was told to stand up and warn people kindly, like a lighthouse that shines so ships can stay safe.
Fact: How far can a lighthouse beam be seen at sea?
Ages 5–8: Torch signal. In a dark room, use a torch to flash a "safe" signal and a "danger" signal.
Ages 9–12: Lighthouse lens. Find out how a Fresnel lens makes a small lamp shine so far.
Finish with: "I found that a lighthouse can be seen up to ___ away."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will kindly warn someone if I see they might get hurt."
Action: Kindly warn someone if you see they might get hurt.
