When Allah's servant stood up to pray to Him, they crowded thickly around him.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever seen thousands of birds flying together in one cloud?"
Watch the FOX Weather video of a starling murmuration.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What happened when the Prophet stood to pray?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did they crowd around him?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Jinn is surah 72. Find ayah 19. The key word libada means crowded, packed together. Many scholars say the jinn crowded around to hear the Prophet recite; others say people crowded to stop him. Either way, his prayer drew great attention.
Fact: How do starlings fly so close together without crashing?
Ages 5–8: Flock game. Walk in a group, each person keeping the same space from their neighbours. Can you turn together?
Ages 9–12: Murmuration rules. Find the three simple rules starlings follow in a flock.
Finish with: "I found that starlings avoid crashing by ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will pray calmly even when others are watching."
Action: Pray calmly even when others are watching.
