إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
'Illā ʻalā 'az'wājihim' 'aw' mā malakat' 'ay'mānuhum' fa'innahum' ghay'ru malūmīna
Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed,

Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Do you know any animals that stay with one partner for life?"
Watch the Nat Geo Animals video about animals that pair for life.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Where is closeness allowed?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah honour marriage?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ma'arij is surah 70. Find ayah 30. The key word azwajihim means their spouses. Islam teaches that marriage is the right place for closeness between a husband and wife. This ayah also gives rules from long ago that grown-ups will explain when you are older. Some birds, like swans, stay with one partner for life.
Fact: How do swan pairs work together to raise their cygnets?
Ages 5–8: Family nest. Draw a bird family in their nest.
Ages 9–12: Loyal animals. Find three animals that stay with one partner for life.
Finish with: "I found that swan pairs work together by ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will help my parents with one job they share."
Action: Help your parents with one job they share.
