Ask: "Is it hard to change a habit your family has always had?"

For a few quiet minutes, listen to Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary reciting Al-A'raf, shared by Full Quran.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did they not want to leave?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do people cling to old ways?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 70. 'Ad refused to leave their ancestors' idols and dared Hud to bring punishment. Following family is good, except when it goes against Allah.

Fact: Luqman 31:21 is about following fathers blindly.

Ages 5–8: Good habits. Name a good habit you learned at home.

Ages 9–12: Old ways. Write when to follow and when not to follow old ways.

Finish with: "They wanted to keep their fathers' ___."

Talk together:

• What did they refuse?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why cling to old ways?
• Which good habit will you keep?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank my parents for a good habit."

• Follow truth.
• Keep good habits.
• Don't dare punishment.
• Next time: the next ayah (7:71) gives Hud's warning. Explore it together!

Action: Thank your parents for a good habit.
