وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةًۭ قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَآ ءَابَآءَنَا وَٱللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ ۖ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
How to read it
Wa 'idhā faʻalū fāḥishatan qālū wajad'nā ʻalay'hā 'ābā'anā wa-llahu 'amaranā bihā . qul' 'inna -llaha lā ya''muru bil-faḥ'shā'i . 'ataqūlūna ʻalā-llahi mā lā taʻ'lamūna
When they do aught that is shameful, they say: "We found our fathers doing so"; and "Allah commanded us thus": Say: "Nay, Allah never commands what is shameful: do ye say of Allah what ye know not?"
