Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What can people from the past teach us?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Taghabun is surah 64. Find ayah 5. The key words naba'u alladhina kafaru min qabl mean the news of those who disbelieved before. When we see old things in a museum, we remember that many people lived before us; Allah tells us some of them refused His messengers, and we want to be among those who listen. The Quran keeps a record of past peoples so we can learn from them.

Fact: How long does it take for a fossil to form?

Ages 5–8: Pretend fossil. Press a shell or leaf into play dough to make a "fossil" print.

Ages 9–12: Lesson list. Write three lessons the Quran's stories of past peoples teach.

Finish with: "I found that fossils take about ___ to form."
