إِنَّمَآ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَأَوْلَٰدُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌۭ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌۭ
'Innamā 'am'wālukum' wa'aw'lādukum' fit'natun . wa-llahu ʻindahu 'aj'run ʻaẓīmun
Your riches and your children may be but a trial: but in the Presence of Allah, is the highest, Reward.

Your wealth and children are only a test, and with Allah is a great reward.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How long does a farmer wait between planting wheat and harvesting it?"
Watch the George the Farmer video Learn about wheat.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What is a test, and what is with Allah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can things I love be a test?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Taghabun is surah 64. Find ayah 15. The key word fitnah means a test. The things and people we love most can test us: will we still put Allah first? Waiting patiently for Allah's great reward is like a farmer waiting for seedlings to grow into a harvest.
Fact: How long does wheat take to grow from seed to harvest?
Ages 5–8: Waiting game. Save a treat until after you've finished your homework.
Ages 9–12: First things first. List what comes first in your day and whether Allah is near the top.
Finish with: "I found that wheat takes about ___ to grow."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will pray on time even when I'm busy with something I love."
Action: Pray on time even when you're busy with something you love.
