Start with bismillah.

Ask: "What things pull your attention away when you're trying to focus?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What should not distract us?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I remember Allah even when I'm busy?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Munafiqun is surah 63. Find ayah 9. The key words la tulhikum mean don't let them distract you. Even good things like money and family can pull us away from remembering Allah. A magnifying glass focuses light on one spot; we can focus our hearts on Allah.

Fact: How does a magnifying glass focus sunlight?

Ages 5–8: Focus game. Look at one object for one minute without looking away. How hard is it?

Ages 9–12: Distraction diary. Note what distracts you from salah for three days and plan a fix.

Finish with: "I found that a magnifying glass focuses light by ___."

Talk together:

• How can good things become distractions?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• When during the day can we remember Allah?
• What helps you focus in salah?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will stop what I'm doing as soon as I hear the adhan."

• Stop for salah straight away.
