Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What two things make up the trade?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I strive for Allah at my age?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saff is surah 61. Find ayah 11. The key words tujahiduna fi sabilillah bi-amwalikum wa anfusikum mean you strive in Allah's way with your wealth and yourselves. Striving means giving our best effort for good: studying, helping, giving charity, being patient. Your teachers can explain more.

Fact: How many hours does it take to become really good at a skill?

Ages 5–8: Effort chart. Pick a good skill and practise it every day this week.

Ages 9–12: Strive list. List ways a child can strive for Allah with time, money and effort.

Finish with: "I found that getting good at a skill takes about ___ hours."
