۞ وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ ءَازَرَ أَتَتَّخِذُ أَصْنَامًا ءَالِهَةً ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكَ وَقَوْمَكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
wa'idh' qāla 'ib'rāhīmu li'abīhi 'āzara 'atattakhidhu 'aṣ'nāman 'ālihatan . 'innī 'arāka waqaw'maka fī ḍalālin mmubīnin
Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar: "Takest thou idols for gods? For I see thee and thy people in manifest error."

Ibrahim asked his father Azar how he could take idols as gods, and told him gently that he and his people were clearly mistaken.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do you tell someone you love that they are making a mistake?"
Play the short Al-An'am clip of ayah 74 from Ummah Muslim.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Ibrahim ask his father?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can we speak kindly when we disagree?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-An'am is surah 6. Find ayah 74. Ibrahim loved his father and spoke to him with care. In Surah Maryam he calls him 'O my dear father' again and again. We learn to stand for truth while staying respectful to parents.
Fact: In Maryam 19:42–45, Ibrahim speaks gently to his father.
Ages 5–8: Kind words. Practise saying 'Dear Mum' or 'Dear Dad' before a request.
Ages 9–12: Respectful truth. Write how to disagree politely with an adult.
Finish with: "Ibrahim called his father 'O my ___ father'."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will speak gently to my parents, even when I disagree."
Action: Speak gently to your parents, even when you disagree.
