Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did these emigrants leave behind?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why would someone leave everything for Allah?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hashr is surah 59. Find ayah 8. The key word al-muhajirin means the emigrants. Many early believers left their homes and wealth in Makkah and moved to Madinah, just to worship Allah freely. Allah calls them the truthful ones.

Fact: About how far is it from Makkah to Madinah?

Ages 5–8: Moving box. Draw a box with the three most important things you'd take if you moved.

Ages 9–12: Sacrifice. Write about something you would give up for something more important.

Finish with: "I found that Makkah to Madinah is about ___ km."

Talk together:

• What made the emigrants so special?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• How can we help families who move to our area?
• What does it mean to be truthful in faith?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will welcome someone who has moved to our area."

• Draw your moving box.
• Share sacrifice.
