Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Can you remember what you did on this day last month?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did they forget, and what did Allah do?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why doesn't Allah forget anything?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mujadilah is surah 58. Find ayah 6. The key words ahsahullahu wa nasuh mean Allah counted it while they forgot it. We forget most of what we do, but Allah keeps every deed counted, the good ones too. That's comforting: no kindness is ever lost.

Fact: What part of the brain helps store memories?

Ages 5–8: Memory tray. Look at ten objects, cover them, and see how many you remember.

Ages 9–12: Good deeds diary. Write down three good deeds each day this week so you remember them.

Finish with: "I found that memories are stored with help from the ___."

Talk together:

• Why is it comforting that Allah counts every good deed?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What small good deeds might we forget?
• How can we make sure our records are full of good?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will do one small good deed that no one notices."

• Do an unnoticed good deed.
• Try the memory tray.
• Share your deeds diary.
