4-I guide
This is a warner like the warners of old.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do tsunami warnings help people stay safe?"
Watch the CBC Kids News video What are tsunamis and how do they happen?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who is 'this warner'?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Allah send so many warners?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Najm is surah 53. Find ayah 56. The key word nadhir means a warner. Tsunami warnings give people time to reach high ground. The Prophet came as a warner like the prophets before him, giving people time to turn to Allah. A warning is a mercy when we listen.
Fact: How do tsunami warning systems detect a wave?
Ages 5–8: High ground. Plan with your family where you would go if you needed to reach high ground.
Ages 9–12: Warners list. List prophets mentioned in this surah and others who warned their people.
Finish with: "I found that tsunami warnings work by ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will follow one teaching of the Prophet each day."
Action: Follow one teaching of the Prophet each day.
