4-I guide
And the mountains will travel away.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Did you know the ground under our feet is moving very slowly right now?"
Watch the Da Vinci Kids video Tectonic Plates: The Skin of Our Planet.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will happen to the mountains?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can something as heavy as a mountain move?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tur is surah 52. Find ayah 10. The key words tasiru al-jibal mean the mountains will travel. Even now, Earth's giant plates creep a few centimetres a year, about as fast as fingernails grow. On the Day of Judgement, the mountains will move away completely. It is a sign to ponder.
Fact: How fast do Earth's plates move each year?
Ages 5–8: Cracker plates. Float two crackers on jam and push them together to see a "mountain" rise.
Ages 9–12: Plate map. Trace a map of Earth's main plates and mark one mountain range on a boundary.
Finish with: "I found that the plates move about ___ a year."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will choose one thing that lasts, like a kind word, over one thing that doesn't."
Action: Push the cracker plates.
