ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ
'Ākhidhīna mā 'ātāhum' rabbuhum' . 'innahum' kānū qab'la dhālika muḥ'sinīna
Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life.

They gladly take what their Lord gives them, for they used to do good.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What is one kind thing someone did for you that you still remember?"
Watch The Cohen Show video 10 Random Acts of Kindness for Kids. (It has music.)
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why are these people rewarded?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What does it mean to do things beautifully?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Adh-Dhariyat is surah 51. Find ayah 16. The key word muhsinin means people who do good, and do it beautifully. Ihsan means doing your very best because you know Allah sees you. These people enjoy Allah's gifts in Jannah because of the good they did in this life.
Fact: What does the word ihsan mean?
Ages 5–8: Beautiful job. Do one chore really carefully, as if Allah is watching, because He is.
Ages 9–12: Kindness week. Plan one act of kindness for each day of the week.
Finish with: "I found that ihsan means ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will do one task with ihsan, as carefully as I can."
Action: Do one task with ihsan, as carefully as you can.
