قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَىَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِٱلْوَعِيدِ
Qāla lā takh'taṣimū ladayya waqad' qaddam'tu 'ilay'kum bil-waʻīdi
He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning.

Allah will say, Do not argue in front of Me; I already sent you a warning.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What helps people stop arguing and sort things out?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why is there no point arguing on that Day?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Allah send warnings in advance?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Qaf is surah 50. Find ayah 28. The key word la takhtasimu means do not dispute. On that Day, arguing and blaming will not help, because Allah sent clear warnings beforehand. In this life, we can stop arguments early by listening, calming down and talking things through.
Fact: What are three steps to solve a disagreement calmly?
Ages 5–8: Calm corner. Practise taking three deep breaths before talking about a problem.
Ages 9–12: Peace steps. Write the steps to solve a disagreement and stick them on the fridge.
Finish with: "I found that the steps to solve a disagreement are ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will take three breaths before answering when I feel cross."
Action: Take three breaths before answering when you feel cross.
