And his companion will say, Here is what I have ready.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why do people keep diaries?"
Watch the Socratica Kids video Intro to Journal Writing for Kids. (It has music.)
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does the companion bring?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What is written in my record so far?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Qaf is surah 50. Find ayah 23. The key word 'atid means ready. Scholars say the companion is the recording angel, who brings the full record of a person's life. Every day we add pages to our own record. The good news is that today is a fresh page.
Fact: What is the difference between a diary and a journal?
Ages 5–8: Good page. Draw one good thing you did today on a page of your own "record".
Ages 9–12: Daily journal. Keep a journal for a week with one good deed each day.
Finish with: "I found that a journal is ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will start each morning by intending one good deed for my record."
Action: Start each morning by intending one good deed for your record.
