يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ قَوَّٰمِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَآءَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَـَٔانُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا۟ ۚ ٱعْدِلُوا۟ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

How to read it

Yā'ayyuhā -lladhīna 'āmanū kūnū qawwāmīna lillahi shuhadā'a bil-qis'ṭi . walā yaj'rimannakum' shana'ānu qaw'min ʻalā 'allā taʻ'dilū . (i)ʻ'dilū huwa 'aq'rabu li ttaq'wā . wa-ttaqū -llaha . 'inna -llaha khabīrun[m] bimā taʻ'malūna

O ye who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.

Fact: An-Nisa' 4:135 also asks for justice even against yourself or family.

Ages 9–12: Fair to all. Write how to be fair to someone who was unkind to you.
