فَطَوَّعَتْ لَهُۥ نَفْسُهُۥ قَتْلَ أَخِيهِ فَقَتَلَهُۥ فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
Faṭawwaʻat' lahu naf'suhu qat'la 'akhīhi faqatalahu fa'aṣ'baḥa mina l-khāssirīna
The (selfish) soul of the other led him to the murder of his brother: he murdered him, and became (himself) one of the lost ones.

His own soul made it seem acceptable to him to kill his brother, so he did it and became one of the losers.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How can anger make a terrible idea seem okay?"
A short clip on بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ recites ayat 27–32 of Al-Ma'idah. Play the whole clip.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did his soul do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did he become a loser?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ma'idah is surah 5. Find ayah 30. Qabil let jealousy and anger control him and committed the first murder. This shows how dangerous unchecked anger is. We learn to calm anger early.
Fact: A way to calm anger: say a'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim.
Ages 5–8: Anger stop. Learn the words to say when angry.
Ages 9–12: Controlling anger. Write three ways to calm anger.
Finish with: "When angry, say a'udhu billahi minash-___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say a'udhu billah when I feel angry."
Action: Say a'udhu billah when you feel angry.
