Start with bismillah.

Ask: "What can people learn from a long journey?"

A short clip on Rashid Qadri recites ayat 20–26 of Al-Ma'idah. Play the whole clip.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How long would they wander?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Allah tell Musa not to be sad?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ma'idah is surah 5. Find ayah 26. Because they refused, a whole generation wandered in the desert. During this time, a new, braver generation grew up.

Fact: Where scholars say they wandered? The Sinai desert, known as At-Tih.

Ages 5–8: Forty count. Count to forty and imagine forty years.

Ages 9–12: Lessons from delay. Write what a new generation might learn.

Finish with: "They wandered for ___ years."

Talk together:

• How long did they wander?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why?
• What can you learn from waiting?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will be patient when something is delayed."

• Don't grieve.
• Learn and grow.
