4-I guide
We have opened the way for you to a clear victory.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can making peace ever be a bigger win than winning a fight?"
Watch the Mufti Menk video The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. Grown-ups may like to watch this talk first and then share the story.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does Allah call this event?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can a peace agreement be a victory?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Fath is surah 48, and it has twenty-nine ayat. The surah is named after al-fath, the opening or victory (ayah 1). It was revealed after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. The Muslims had travelled to Makkah for 'umrah but were stopped. Instead of fighting, the Prophet agreed a peace treaty. Many people felt sad, but Allah called it a clear victory, because peace allowed Islam to spread.
Fact: In which year after the hijrah was the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah agreed?
Ages 5–8: Peace picture. Draw two groups shaking hands under a tree.
Ages 9–12: Hidden win. Write about a time when giving way turned out better in the end.
Finish with: "I found that the treaty was agreed in year ___ after the hijrah."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will choose peace in one disagreement, even if I don't get my way."
Action: Choose peace in one disagreement, even if you don't get your way.
