Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How did people with sick hearts react?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Where does real courage come from?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Muhammad is surah 47. Find ayah 20. The key word muhkamah means clear and decisive. The early Muslims were being attacked and had to defend themselves. True believers trusted Allah, but some who only pretended to believe were frozen with fear. Courage does not mean feeling no fear; it means trusting Allah and doing what is right anyway.

Fact: What happens in your body when you feel afraid?

Ages 5–8: Brave breath. When you feel scared, breathe slowly three times and remember Allah.

Ages 9–12: Courage moment. Write about a time you did the right thing even though you were afraid.

Finish with: "I found that when I'm afraid my body ___."

• When do you need courage?
• How does trusting Allah help us feel brave?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?
