وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ هَٰذَا سِحْرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ
Wa 'idhā tut'lā ʻalay'him' 'āyātunā bayyinātin qāla -lladhīna kafarū lil'ḥaqqi lammā jā'ahum' hādhā siḥ'run mmubīnun
When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say, of the Truth when it comes to them: "This is evident sorcery!"

When Our clear verses are recited to them, the deniers say of the truth that has come to them that it is plain magic.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever seen something that looked like magic but had a simple explanation?"
Watch the ABC Big Kids video Science Magic.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the deniers call the Quran?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do people call something magic when they can't explain it?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ahqaf is surah 46. Find ayah 7. The key words sihrun mubin mean obvious magic. The Quran moved people's hearts so strongly that some deniers called it magic instead of admitting it was true. A trick fools your eyes, but the truth stays true however closely you look.
Fact: What makes a paperclip float on water?
Ages 5–8: Science trick. Try a simple water experiment and explain why it works.
Ages 9–12: Trick or truth. Write how you can tell a trick from something real.
Finish with: "I found that a paperclip can float because ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will ask 'How does that work?' about one amazing thing."
Action: Ask 'How does that work?' about one amazing thing.
