وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنتُمْ قَوْمًۭا مُّجْرِمِينَ
Wa 'ammā -lladhīna kafarū 'afalam' takun' 'āyātī tut'lā ʻalay'kum' fa-s'tak'bar'tum' wakuntum' qaw'man mmuj'rimīna
But as to those who rejected Allah, (to them will be said): "Were not Our Signs rehearsed to you? But ye were arrogant, and were a people given to sin!

As for those who disbelieved, they will be asked whether Our verses were not recited to them, yet they were arrogant and a sinful people.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What if you were better than everyone at something?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What was their problem?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I stay humble when I'm good at something?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Jathiyah is surah 45. Find ayah 31. The key word istakbartum means you were arrogant. They heard Allah's verses many times, but they felt too important to follow them. Humility, called tawadu', means remembering that every talent is a gift from Allah. Humble people keep learning.
Fact: What does tawadu' mean?
Ages 5–8: Gift thanks. Name one thing you are good at and say "Alhamdulillah, it's from Allah."
Ages 9–12: Humble hero. Write about someone talented who stays humble.
Finish with: "I found that tawadu' means ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah whenever someone praises me."
Action: Thank Allah whenever someone praises you.
