Yet no prophet came to them without their mocking him.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How does it feel to be laughed at?"
Watch the Nib & Nora story The Laugh That Hurt.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How did people treat the prophets?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How did prophets keep going when people laughed?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 7. The key word yastahzi'un means they mocked. Every prophet was laughed at, from Nuh building his ark to the Prophet Muhammad in Makkah. They kept going because they knew they were right and Allah was with them. Being laughed at for doing good is a test many good people face.
Fact: Why did Nuh's people laugh at him?
Ages 5–8: Kind not cruel. Practise turning a mean laugh into a kind smile.
Ages 9–12: Stand firm. Write what you can say to yourself when people laugh at you for doing right.
Finish with: "I found that Nuh's people laughed because ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will never laugh at someone for trying to do good."
Action: Never laugh at someone for trying to do good.
