هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Hal' yanẓurūna 'illā ssāʻata 'an ta''tiyahum bagh'tatan wahum' lā yash'ʻurūna
Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not?

Are they only waiting for the Hour to come upon them suddenly, while they do not notice?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How did Nuh get ready before the flood?"
Watch the Stories of the Prophets video Prophet Nuh. You can watch part of it.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How will the Hour come?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I be ready for something that comes suddenly?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 66. The key word baghtatan means suddenly. Nuh built his ark long before the flood, while people laughed. When it came, he was ready. The Hour will come without warning, so the wise are ready every day by doing good now.
Fact: How long did Nuh call his people, according to the Quran?
Ages 5–8: Ready bag. Pack a pretend "ready bag" with good deeds written on cards.
Ages 9–12: Ready now. Write three things you can do today to be ready.
Finish with: "I found that Nuh called his people for ___ years."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will not put off a good deed until later."
Action: Not put off a good deed until later.
