وَإِذَا حُيِّيتُم بِتَحِيَّةٍۢ فَحَيُّوا۟ بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَآ أَوْ رُدُّوهَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَسِيبًا
Wa 'idhā ḥuyyītum bitaḥiyyatin faḥayyū bi'aḥ'sana min'hā 'aw' ruddūhā . 'inna -llaha kāna ʻalā kulli shay''in ḥassīban
When a (courteous) greeting is offered you, meet it with a greeting still more courteous, or (at least) of equal courtesy. Allah takes careful account of all things.

When someone greets you, return the greeting with something better or at least the same, for Allah keeps account of everything.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How can you make a greeting even better?"
Our listening today is Mishary Alafasy reciting ayat 81–90, posted by Holy Qur'an-القرآن الكريم. Keep 'Return a Better Greeting' in mind while you listen.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How should we answer a greeting?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah care about greetings?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nisa' is surah 4. Find ayah 86. If someone says 'Assalamu 'alaykum', we can reply 'Wa 'alaykumus-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh'. Each extra phrase brings more reward.
Fact: The Prophet taught that the full greeting earns thirty rewards (Abu Dawud).
Ages 5–8: Better greeting. Practise the full salam reply.
Ages 9–12: Greeting manners. Write why greetings build love.
Finish with: "The full salam earns ___ rewards."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will reply to every salam with the full greeting."
Action: Reply to every salam with the full greeting.
