Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does the night do to the day?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How do the sun and moon know their way?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zumar is surah 39. Find ayah 5. The key word yukawwiru means He wraps around, like winding a turban. As the earth turns, night slowly wraps around one side while day wraps around the other, a sign to ponder. The sun and moon move on their paths for a fixed time. All of this follows Allah's command.

Ages 5–8: Wrap the ball. Wrap a dark scarf halfway round a light-coloured ball and slowly turn it, watching dark wrap around light.
