Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Can money and power stop Allah's plan?"

Watch the IQRA CARTOON video Qarun, Rich and Arrogant Man.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "From where did the punishment come?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did they not expect it?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zumar is surah 39. Find ayah 25. The key words min haythu la yash'urun mean from where they did not perceive. Earlier peoples who denied the truth felt safe and proud. But Allah's punishment came from directions they never expected, like Qarun, swallowed by the earth with his treasures. No one can plan around Allah.

Fact: Which short surah tells of an army with elephants that came to destroy the Ka'bah?

Ages 5–8: Surprise test. Hide a toy where nobody expects and talk about how Allah knows every hiding place.

Ages 9–12: Proud and surprised. Write about two people in the Quran who felt safe but were surprised.

Finish with: "I found that the surah is ___."

Talk together:

• Why did proud people feel safe?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What really keeps us safe?
• What can we learn from Qarun?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will share something I have with someone who needs it."

• Share what you have.
• Try the surprise test.
• Share proud and surprised.
• Next time: the next ayah (39:26) speaks of disgrace in this life. Explore it together!

Action: Share something you have with someone who needs it.
