قُلْ مَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍۢ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ
Qul' mā 'as''alukum' ʻalay'hi min' 'aj'rin wamā 'anā mina l-mutakallifīna
Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender.

Say: I am not asking you for any fee for this, and I am not one who fakes or overreaches.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Would you trust a helper more if they asked for nothing in return?"
Watch the Deen for kids video Honesty: The Story of Prophet Muhammad.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What two things does the Prophet say he is not doing?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why didn't the Prophet ask for money?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 86. The key word al-mutakallifin means people who pretend or make things up. The Prophet shared the message for free, hoping only for Allah's reward. He did not pretend to be more than he was. Prophets before him said the same. This honesty is one sign that his message was true.
Fact: How many times does Surah Ash-Shu'ara repeat a prophet saying he asks no reward?
Ages 5–8: Free help. Do a job at home without expecting anything back.
Ages 9–12: Real or fake? Write how you can tell whether someone is being genuine or just pretending.
Finish with: "I found that it is repeated ___ times."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will help someone without expecting anything back."
Action: Help someone without expecting anything back.
