وَعَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ ۖ وَقَالَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا سَٰحِرٌۭ كَذَّابٌ
Wa ʻajibū 'an jā'ahum mmundhirun mmin'hum' . waqāla l-kāfirūna hādhā sāḥirun kadhdhābun
So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies!

They found it strange that a warner had come to them from their own people, and the deniers said he was a magician and a liar.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How would you feel if someone called you a liar when you told the truth?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What unfair names did the deniers use?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did they call an honest man a liar?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 4. The key word mundhir means a warner, someone who warns kindly of danger ahead. The Prophet grew up among his people and they all knew his honesty. Yet when he brought the message, some called him a magician and a liar. Their names did not change the truth. He stayed patient and kept on doing good.
Fact: What title did the people of Makkah give the Prophet before his prophethood?
Ages 5–8: Kind names. Take turns giving each family member a kind, true name like "the helper".
Ages 9–12: Truth test. Write how you could tell whether a person is honest, using three clues.

Talk together:
