4-I guide
So indeed, you and whatever you worship,
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can a statue or idol make anyone do anything?"
Watch the Jellybean Tales video Al-Khaliq.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who is being spoken to here?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What power do idols really have?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saffat is surah 37. Find ayah 161. The key word ta'budun means you worship. This ayah begins a sentence that continues into the next two. It speaks to the idol worshippers and their idols together. Neither the people nor their idols have power over a heart that belongs to Allah, Al-Khaliq.
Fact: How many ayat does it take to complete this sentence?
Ages 5–8: Sentence chain. Read ayat 161, 162 and 163 together as one long sentence.
Ages 9–12: Connected ayat. Find another place in the Quran where one sentence runs across several ayat.
Finish with: "I found that the sentence runs across ___ ayat."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will read three ayat together to understand the full meaning."
Action: Read three ayat together to understand the full meaning.
