And Ilyas was certainly one of the messengers.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you heard of Prophet Ilyas before?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What was Ilyas?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Where did Ilyas live?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saffat is surah 37. Find ayah 123. The key word al-mursalin means the messengers. Ilyas is mentioned only a few times in the Quran, yet Allah honours him as a messenger. He was sent to a people who worshipped an idol called Ba'l. Lesser-known prophets are just as worthy of our love and respect.
Fact: In which other surah is Ilyas named among the righteous?
Ages 5–8: Prophet stars. Add a new star for Ilyas to your chart of prophets.
Ages 9–12: Less-known prophets. List three prophets who are mentioned only briefly in the Quran.
