وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّۭا كَثِيرًا ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا۟ تَعْقِلُونَ
Wa laqad' 'aḍalla minkum' jibillan kathīran . 'afalam' takūnū taʻ'qilūna
"But he did lead astray a great multitude of you. Did ye not, then, understand?

Shaytan led huge numbers of people astray, so Allah asks why they did not use their minds.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Should we follow something just because many people do it?"
Watch the Little Ummah Studio video Beware of Shaytan! Shaytan Loves Anger.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What question does Allah ask?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does thinking protect me?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ya-Sin is surah 36. Find ayah 62. The key word ta'qilun means you use your reason. Shaytan has misled huge crowds, but a crowd is not proof of truth. Allah gave us minds to think. Pausing to ask is this right? is a strong shield.
Fact: Which part of the body does the Quran often link with understanding, alongside the mind?
Ages 5–8: Follow the crowd? Play a game where one person copies everyone else, then talk about when copying is wise or unwise.
Ages 9–12: Think check. Write three questions to ask yourself before joining in with what friends are doing.
Finish with: "I found that the Quran links understanding with the ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will count to ten when I feel angry."
Action: Count to ten when you feel angry.
