Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What two things might fool us?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can shiny things distract me?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Fatir is surah 35. Find ayah 5. The key word yaghurrannakum means trick you, make you careless. This world can be like a shiny wrapper: nice, but not the real gift. The great deceiver, Shaytan, makes us think there is plenty of time. Allah's promise is the real thing.

Ages 5–8: Wrapper or gift. Wrap an empty box beautifully and a plain box with a real treat, then choose which is better.

Ages 9–12: Advert detective. Look at an advert and list what it promises and what it really gives.

Finish with: "I found that the surah is ___."

Talk together:

• How can this world trick us?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What reminds you that Allah's promise is true?
• What shiny thing distracts you most?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will put down a screen or toy when it is time to pray."
