ذَٰلِكَ جَزَيْنَٰهُم بِمَا كَفَرُوا۟ ۖ وَهَلْ نُجَٰزِىٓ إِلَّا ٱلْكَفُورَ
Dhālika jazay'nāhum bimā kafarū . wahal' nujāzī 'illā l-kafūra
That was the Requital We gave them because they ungratefully rejected Faith: and never do We give (such) requital except to such as are ungrateful rejecters.

Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why does saying thank you matter so much?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What was the cause?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I become more grateful?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Saba is surah 34. Find ayah 17. The key word al-kafur means the deeply ungrateful. Allah is clear that this happens because of long ingratitude, not for small mistakes. Gratitude, called shukr, is the opposite. Another ayah promises that if we are grateful, Allah gives us more.
Fact: In which surah does Allah promise that if you are grateful He will give you more?
Ages 5–8: Thank-you count. Count how many times you say thank you today.
Ages 9–12: Gratitude journal. Write three new things you are grateful for every day this week.
Finish with: "I found that the promise is in surah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will keep a gratitude journal every night."
