يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِى ٱلنَّارِ يَقُولُونَ يَٰلَيْتَنَآ أَطَعْنَا ٱللَّهَ وَأَطَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَا۠
Yaw'ma tuqallabu wujūhuhum' fī nnāri yaqūlūna yālay'tanā 'aṭaʻ'nā -llaha wa'aṭaʻ'nā rrassūlā
The Day that their faces will be turned upside down in the Fire, they will say: "Woe to us! Would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!"

In the Fire, they will wish they had obeyed Allah and His Messenger.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever wished you had listened to good advice?"
Listen to the Al-Huda Productions recitation Final Verses of Surah Al-Ahzab by Sheikh Sudais.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do they wish?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I avoid regret?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ahzab is surah 33. Find ayah 66. The key words ya laytana mean if only we had. This short ayah describes a deep regret: they wish they had obeyed Allah and the Messenger. The good news is that, while we are alive, we can still choose to obey and avoid that regret.
Fact: Which surah describes people in the Fire saying that if only they had listened or used their minds, they would not be there?
Ages 5–8: Advice jar. Write good advice from parents on slips and pick one to follow each day.
Ages 9–12: Advice I will take. Write three pieces of good advice you have heard and when you will act on each.
Finish with: "I found that it is surah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will follow one piece of good advice I have been ignoring."
Action: Follow one piece of good advice you have been ignoring.
