هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَلِّى عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتُهُۥ لِيُخْرِجَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ ۚ وَكَانَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَحِيمًۭا
Huwa -lladhī yuṣallī ʻalay'kum' wamalā'ikatuhu liyukh'rijakum mmina ẓẓulumāti 'ilā nnūri . wakāna bil-mu''minīna raḥīman
He it is Who sends blessings on you, as do His angels, that He may bring you out from the depths of Darkness into Light: and He is Full of Mercy to the Believers.

Allah sends His blessings on the believers, and His angels pray for them, to bring them from darkness into light.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How does it feel to walk from a dark room into sunshine?"
Watch the Humood Al-Khudr nasheed From Darkness to Light, with English subtitles.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Where does Allah bring the believers?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What darkness can I come out of?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ahzab is surah 33. Find ayah 43. The key words az-zulumat ila an-nur mean from darknesses to light. Darkness can mean confusion, sadness or wrongdoing; light means guidance, hope and goodness. Allah's blessings and the angels' prayers help believers move into the light. Allah is Rahim, Merciful.
Fact: How many kilometres does light travel in one second?
Ages 5–8: Torch walk. Walk through a dim room with a torch and talk about how guidance helps us.
Ages 9–12: Light list. Write three kinds of darkness and the light that helps with each.
Finish with: "I found that light travels about ___ kilometres each second."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will bring light to someone who is sad."
Action: Bring light to someone who is sad.
Walk slowly in the dim room and keep the floor clear.
