Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do these people prefer to follow?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How do I know if a tradition is good?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Luqman is surah 31. Find ayah 21. The key word aba'ana means our fathers or forefathers. Many traditions are good and beautiful. But when a custom goes against what Allah has revealed, believers follow Allah. Copying blindly, without thinking, can lead people the wrong way.

Fact: Which prophet's people said they would keep worshipping what their fathers worshipped, in Surah Al-Anbiya?

Ages 5–8: Good tradition, bad habit. Sort family habits into good traditions and habits to change.

Ages 9–12: Check the custom. Choose one custom and check whether it agrees with the Quran.

Finish with: "I found that it was the people of ___."

• How can we check if a custom is good?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?
