Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Does Allah need anything from us?"

Ummah Muslim posted a short recitation of ayah 181 of Ali 'Imran. Listen to all of it together.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Allah hear?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why was their claim wrong?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ali 'Imran is surah 3. Find ayah 181. Some mocked the call to give charity. Allah is Al-Ghani, the Rich, who needs nothing. When we give, it's for our own good.

Fact: Al-Ghani means the Self-Sufficient, who needs nothing.

Ages 5–8: Allah needs nothing. Talk about why we give.

Ages 9–12: Respect. Write why we speak about Allah respectfully.

Finish with: "Allah is Al-___, who needs nothing."

Talk together:

• What did Allah hear?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Does Allah need anything?
• Why do we give?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will give charity knowing it helps me."

• Allah needs nothing.
• Speak respectfully.
• Give for your good.
• Next time: the next ayah (3:182) says Allah is never unjust. Explore it together!

Action: Give charity knowing it helps you.
